Many students love when the kitties visit the library atrium during finals week to relieve some stress. Also, each quarter, the Cal Poly Cat Shelter holds a movie night at their facility open to anyone who wants to go hang out, play with cats, relax, and watch a movie!
Marine Lab at Cal Poly Pier in Avila Beachcalpoly
Biology courses utilize this unique facility, almost 1 mile out into the ocean, on the water at Avila Beach. The pier has several open house days during the year in which the community can come in to tour and view student projects.

Buck the Gauchos is the spirit campaign for the big "green/blue rivalry" game in which the Cal Poly soccer team plays the UC Santa Barbara soccer team on the Cal Poly turf in Spanos stadium. Named one of the "must attend games before you die"- a top college rivalry in the nation, sold out each year.
