Homeless Video from Eden Elissague on Vimeo.

On any given night in San Luis Obispo county between 2,500 and 4,000 people are looking for a place to sleep, according to the Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo county’s website. These are people who are in need of a clean and safe place where they can get the assistance they need to rebuild their lives. The Community Action Partnership’s Homeless Services program has been working to meet the need of the homeless in our county since 1989.

This video is a deeper look into the Prado Day Center and the Maxine Lewis Memorial Homeless Shelter in San Luis Obispo and a reflection on the value of volunteers to their program. Volunteers are the lifeblood that keep such beneficial organizations vital in the local community and people of all ages and backgrounds and are encouraged to participate in these services.
