New experiences and challenges are valuable at any age but can be especially impactful during the formative college years. Cal Poly and other colleges now offer programs to students that provide an array of travel opportunities, both local and international. One resource at Cal Poly is Poly Escapes, which takes small groups of students to iconic California destinations for an affordable price. These trips often center around some sort of outdoor activity that is taught to the group by a certified trip leader. Spelunking, backpacking and rockclimbing are just a few of the options.
At the college age especially, it can be life changing to get out of your comfort zone and experience something new. Whether it is exploring our diverse state of California with Poly Escapes or journeying to foreign countries, creating new memories and meeting new people can have a lifelong impact.
