What is Cal Poly Wine Festival?

The Cal Poly Wine Festival, better known as Wine Fest, is an entire student run, volunteer based wine event centralized around local wineries and restaurants along the Central Coast. Originally started as a senior project in 2003, the festival will celebrate its 10 year anniversary this year. It is a two day event beginning on March 30 with an Educational Seminar and Kickoff Barbeque on Friday followed by the actual festival showcasing the various wineries and restaurants on March 31.

How many people go to Wine Fest?

Tickets will be available to the first 1,200 people.

Is it only for Cal Poly students and alumni?

Cal Poly Wine Festival is open to everyone! The majority of Wine Festgoers are students and alumni, however, many locals around the Central Coast and wine lovers throughout California come as well.

How much are the tickets?

General Admission tickets are $55 and VIP tickets are $65. VIP tickets allow atendees to arrive an hour early. For the events on Friday, the Educational Seminar tickets are $25 and the Kickoff BBQ tickets are $45. You can purchase all tickets through Ticket Master, as well as follow the link on the Cal Poly Wine Festival Facebook page.

Where is Wine Fest?

Wine Festival will be held at Margarita Vineyards, home of Ancient Peaks Winery, on March 31, from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. VIP ticket-holders can come at 12 p.m.

Can you still go to Wine Fest if you’re under 21-years-old?

Unfortunately no. Since there will primarily be wine tastings accompanied with light appetizers at the festival, no one under 21-years-old will be permitted.

Does Wine Fest offer transportation?

Wine Festival is offering a round trip shuttle bus that will transport attendees to and from the festival for an additional $15. Attendees can also purchase a designated driver ticket in liu of a festival ticket for $15 but may not partake in any of the wine tastings. You may also still drive without purchasing a designated driver ticket, however, Cal Poly Wine Festival encourages drinking responsibly.
