Even the most confident individuals can be self conscience when a camera is pointed in their direction. In this series, the photographer did an extraordinary job at helping the subject share their identity. Beyond that, they kept a consistent, cohesive look and feel throughout the series, making good use of the light and landscape.

It's a challenge so many publications have faced since the pandemic began. The photographer deserves commendation for asking and answering that question, making good use of an awkward time. Through the series, they provide informative images to those who are not familiar with East Los Angeles, while simultaneously bringing a sense of nostalgia to those who are. The consistency of the light and color palette strengthen the series.
